Community Media Sports CIC is a community interest company established to harness the power of media and sport for social good. Based in Colchester and working across Essex and the south-east — and beyond — we bring people together, build skills, and strengthen our community.
We believe media and sport can be a force for positivity: promoting inclusion, opportunity and a sense of belonging for everyone.
We set up Community Media Sports to:
Our activities benefit people in local communities, with a particular focus on young people, alongside disadvantaged, vulnerable and isolated members of the community. While our core focus is Essex and the south-east, the media content and resources we create are designed to benefit communities across the UK.
As a community interest company, we exist for community benefit rather than private gain. Any surplus we make is reinvested into our programmes — improving our ability to introduce new activities and enabling more people to benefit. Our assets and profits are protected by a CIC asset lock for the good of the community.
We are committed to carrying on our activities for the benefit of the community we serve. We are not a political party or campaigning organisation — our focus is people, skills and opportunity.
Community Media Sports CIC is led by a board of four directors who guide our work for the benefit of the community.

Kole is the founder of Community Media Sports and the driving force behind its vision, strategy and partnerships. A career communications manager, documentary filmmaker and published author, he’s passionate about storytelling that gives communities a voice. He holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Essex and a degree in Business Management from the University of Suffolk.

Glory leads our media skills workshops and community content library, shaping the CMS media brand across production, digital output, social channels and the website. A creative storyteller with deep knowledge of the digital media landscape, he brings craft and imagination to everything we produce. He holds a degree in Film and Moving Image Production from Norwich University of the Arts.

Julia keeps CMS financially healthy and well run — overseeing budgets, accounts and compliance as treasurer, while helping grow partnerships and funding. A digital analyst by profession, she’s driven by community integration and loves working alongside local people. She holds an MA in International Finance from London Metropolitan University and a degree in Accountancy & Management Information Systems from the University of Hertfordshire.

Isaac leads our recreational sport, physical-activity and volunteering programmes, and is the point person for inclusive, on-the-ground delivery. A true community champion, he’s happiest bringing people together — and filming and documenting the activities that make it all come alive. He holds a degree in Animation from Norwich University of the Arts.
As we grow, we’ll work alongside volunteers, community partners, local organisations and funders who share our vision. This space will introduce the people and organisations supporting our work. Interested in partnering with us? Get in touch.
